Facilitating
How can we track progress?
In order to facilitate the improvement or creation of a landscape, we need tools that allow monitoring of progress towards ambitions. Living Earth provides such capablity through its capacity to routinely generate land cover, habitat and change maps using Earth observation data

Fires
Fires can lead to loss of vegetation or buildings, particularly if severe and/or frequent.

Floods
Exterme and/or prolonged flooding can lead to changes in vegetation composition and land use.

Drought
Areas suffering from short to long-term rainfall deficiency can lead to dieback and loss of vegetation.

Wind
Strong winds, particularly if sustained over long periods, can lead to damage to vegetation and infrastructure.
